This online Food Safety Basics course covers the importance of food safety and the preventive measures required to help keep people safe from food-borne illness.
The Public Health Agency of Canada estimates that there are between 11 and 13 million cases of food-borne illness each year in Canada. Many of these illnesses can be prevented if people follow the safe food handling practices explained in this course.
Completion times vary depending on the number of times the information is viewed prior to finishing the course. The average completion time is 140 minutes.
