According to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, an active shooter is “an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area.” A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) study identified 200 active shooter incidents in the U.S. from 2000–2015 that killed or wounded a total of 1,274 people. Almost half (44%) of all incidents occurred in areas of commerce. And, over 60% of incidents ended before law enforcement arrived. To help minimize the impact of a workplace shooting and violence in the workplace, companies and individual employees must take steps to plan and prepare.

This active shooter training course is designed to help learners anticipate and recognize an active shooter/active threat situation and react appropriately if they are ever faced with one.
