This Cyber Awareness Training is composed of five chapters. These chapters include:

  • Chapter 4: Security Software and Solutions

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Explain how to best separate personal and professional conduct, as well as the importance of doing so
  • Recognize and safely deal with spam and malware attacks
  • Create, manage, and maintain secure passwords for all your devices and accounts
  • Explain and implement appropriate device security and work-from-home best practices
  • Define and describe personal information
  • Explain the basic principles of the Personal Information Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulations
  • Explain and implement some basic best practices for protecting personal information
  • Define and describe VPNs, antivirus software, and encryption, and explain how each can help keep your devices, accounts, and personal information safe
  • Define and describe an IT security incident
  • Identify and explain the basic responsibilities of yourself and your organization when it comes to responding to IT security incidents

This course was created using standards that will allow playback on most internet capable devices with standard web browsing capabilities including Apple’s iTouch, iPad, and iPhone, as well as most other smart phones and tablets including those with Android and Windows operating systems.

Knowledge Assessment

Testing is conducted in this online course to reinforce the information presented. You are provided three opportunities to achieve a passing mark of 80% or greater.
